Autobike No.3

N 10

Introduced in 1907. Discontinued in 1917. Autobike No. 3 is a very rare deck.

Reproduced by USPCC in green and brown versions in 2015 and erroneously called “Back No. 9,” a design that was never previously produced. Back No. 9, which is Mrs. Robinson’s numerical reference, is actually Autobike No. 2 and has still never been produced. The original Autobike No. 3 was only issued in red and blue, not green or brown.

Autobike No. 3 is one of several decks that were released in the U.K. in the first couple of decades of the 20th century. In fact, the only complete example of this scarce deck that I have in my collection is a red deck with gold edges from Great Britian. I also have an empty U.K. sleeve box that is patiently awaiting an Autobike No. 3 deck to call it home.

The reproduction Autobike decks are pictured below. They were, for a time, exclusively available at Target stores. As of this writing, the decks are readily available for a reasonable price on eBay.
