BICYCLE EPHEMERA
Ephemera is defined as items of collectible memorabilia, typically written or printed ones, that were originally expected to have only short-term usefulness or popularity. The Russell & Morgan Printing Company and its successor, the United States Playing Card Company, produced many playing card related items, such as salesman’s sample books, rules of card games, whist counters, calendars, and an eclectic variety of advertising items.
I will share examples of all of the above, with a special attention to items with depictions of Bicycle playing cards.
This page is under construction and will soon feature many more examples of Bicycle ephemera. In the meantime, do you get the word play in the image below? Hint: say it out loud.
